The New England Patriots will look to extend their winning streak to 10 straight wins when they host the New York Giants. The Patriots will return to Monday Night Football for the first time since the 2022 season when they host the Giants at Gillette Stadium. It will be the Patriots' first Monday Night Football game since a 27-13 win at Arizona on Dec. 12, 2022. It will be the first Monday Night game at Gillette Stadium since a 33-14 loss against Chicago on Oct. 24, 2022. The game will mark the first time the Patriots and Giants will meet on Monday Night Football. The Patriots hosted the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football on Nov. 13 in their last home game at Gillette. In 2019, the Patriots also played back-to-back games against both New York teams in nationally-televised games with a 35-14 win against the Giants at Gillette Stadium in a Thursday Night game (Oct. 10), followed by a 33-0 victory at the Jets on Monday Night Football (Oct. 21).

PATRIOTS IN THROWBACKS AT HOME

The Patriots will wear throwback uniforms this week for the second time this year. The Patriots wore the uniforms in Week 3 against Pittsburgh. The uniforms are based on the ones worn from 1984-1992 and then sporadically from 1994-2012 as an alternate uniform. The Patriots will wear red jerseys with white pants and a white helmet featuring the "Pat Patriot" logo with white facemasks. The Patriots are 7-5 when wearing throwback uniforms at home. New England has worn uniforms featuring the old "Pat Patriot" logo at home 12 times since switching to the current logo in 1993.

SERIES HISTORY

The New England Patriots and the New York Giants will meet for the 13th time in the regular season and for the first time since Nov. 26, 2023, when the Giants won, 10-7, at MetLife Stadium.

While this week will be the first Monday Night Football matchup between the two teams, they have played in prime time four previous times, with two Sunday Night Football games, a Thursday Night Football game and a Saturday Night matchup. The Patriots are 3-1 in those games. In 1987, the Giants won a Sunday night game, 17-10, and in 1999, the Patriots won, 16-14, when they hosted the Giants on Sunday night. The Patriots closed out the 2007 season in a Saturday Night Football game at Giants Stadium with a 38-35 win, and then in 2019, the Patriots won a Thursday Night game, 35-14, at Gillette Stadium.

The clubs have been frequent preseason opponents recently, squaring off in the preseason openers for three straight years from 2001-03 and resuming the series in 2005 when they started to meet in the preseason finale through the 2021 season (except for the 2020 season). The teams broke from that tradition when they met in the preseason opener in the 2022 season, before the streak of preseason matchups ended in 2023. The Patriots and Giants closed out the 2025 preseason at MetLife Stadium on Aug. 21, a 42-10 Giants victory.

The Patriots have faced the Giants more than any other team in the preseason with 32 matchups. Philadelphia and Washington are second with 25 preseason games.

The teams played three times during the 2007 and 2011 seasons with meetings in the preseason, the regular season and in the Super Bowl. The Patriots and Giants faced each other twice in 2019 with a preseason and a regular season meeting in Foxborough. The Patriots lost the preseason finale, 31-29, and then won the regular season matchup, 35-14.

Overall, the Patriots claim a 7-5 edge in the regular season play

NEW ENGLAND TIES

In the decades leading up to the founding of the American Football League in 1960, many football fans in New England followed the Giants, a franchise founded in 1925. New England-based NFL outfits such as the Providence Steam Roller (1925-31), the Boston Redskins (1932-36) and the Boston Yanks (1944-48) folded or moved away, leaving the Giants as the closest NFL team to New England until the Patriots franchise inaugurated play in the 1960 season.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

  • A victory over the New York Giants this week will give the Patriots their 11th win of the season and their 22nd 11-win season since 1970 to extend their mark for the most 11-win seasons during that time span.
  • A win this week against the Giants will extend the Patriots' winning streak to 10 straight wins. The Patriots have had streaks of at least 10 straight wins in a season three previous times in team history with a 12-game streak in 2003, a 16-game streak in 2007 and a 10-game streak in 2015.
  • The Patriots have won nine straight games. If they win this week against the Giants, the Patriots will own their sixth 10-game winning streak overall in regular season games.
  • With the 26-20 win at Cincinnati last week, New England became the second team in NFL history to win nine consecutive games with at least 23 points scored and 23-or-less points allowed in each game, joining the 1961 Houston Oilers. If the Patriots can extend that streak to 10 games this week vs. the Giants, they will become the first team in NFL history to do so.
  • The Patriots have four straight games with a 100-yard receiver: WR DeMario Douglas, 100 yards vs. Atlanta (11/2), WR Mack Hollins, 106 yards at Tampa Bay (11/9), WR Stefon Diggs, 105 yards vs. the New York Jets (11/13) and TE Hunter Henry, 115 yards at Cincinnati (11/23). It is the first time the team has had a 100-yard receiver in four straight games since the 2018 season. If a Patriots player registers a 100-yard receiving game this week against the Giants, it will be the first time the team has had a 100-yard receiver in five straight games since the 2015 season when they had a nine-game streak with a 100-yard receiver.
  • The 2025 Patriots defense is ranked second in the NFL to Jacksonville (83.8), allowing just 87.7 rushing yards per game. The Patriots record for fewest rushing yards allowed per game since the NFL merger is 88.6 per game in 2016.
  • With CB Marcus Jones' 87-yard touchdown vs. Carolina (9/28) and RB Antonio Gibson's 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at Miami on Sept. 14, it marked the fourth season that the Patriots have returned at least one punt and one kickoff for a touchdown in the same season. The Patriots have also returned both a punt and kick for a touchdown in 1980, 2010 and 2012. Of those seasons, only the 2010 season had three touchdown returns. That year, the Patriots returned one punt for a touchdown and two kicks for a touchdown. If the Patriots get a touchdown on a return this week against the Giants, they can match that season.
  • S Brenden Schooler (12), LB Jack Gibbens (10) and LB Christian Elliss (10) have all reached double-digit special teams tackles. LB Marte Mapu has 9 special teams tackles and needs 1 to join them with double-digit special teams tackles. The Patriots have had at least four players finish with 10 or more tackles 14 times, with the last time coming in 2011 with Matthew Slater (14), Tracy White (12), Kyle Arrington (11) and Sergio Brown (11). The team record since 1995 is from 2003, when eight players finished with at least 10 special teams tackles.
  • With a win this week against the Giants, Mike Vrabel can become the third head coach since 1970 to record a winning streak of 10 or more games in his first season with a team, joining Jim Caldwell (14 consecutive wins with Indianapolis in 2009) and Steve Mariucci (11 with San Francisco in 1997).
  • A win this week against Giants will give Vrabel his third 11-win season as a head coach. He led the Tennessee Titans to an 11-5 record in 2020 and a 12-5 record in 2021.
  • QB Drake Maye has three games in 2025 completing at least 80 percent of his passes, the most in team history in a single season. The NFL record for the most in a season is six by Jared Goff in 2024. Overall, Maye has five games in which he completed at least 80 percent of his passes. The Patriots record is 10 such games by Tom Brady. The NFL record is 29 games by Drew Brees.
  • Maye enters this week against Giants first in the NFL with a 71.0 completion percentage. Tom Brady has the New England record for a season with a 68.9 completion percentage in 2007. Maye's 71.0 completion percentage would be the ninth-best in NFL History.
  • RB TreVeyon Henderson became the first Patriots player with two 50-yard touchdowns in the same game in team history at Tampa Bay (11/9) when he scored on a 55-yard touchdown run and a 69-yard touchdown run. It was the fifth time in team history and first since the 2007 season that a Patriots player had two 50-yard runs in the same game. If Henderson has a 50-yard run this week vs. the Giants, he will be the first Patriots player with three 50-yard runs in a season since 2000. Henderson and RB Lawrence Maroney (2002) are the only Patriots with two 50-yard runs in season for the Patriots since 2000. Since 2000, the most 50-yard runs in a season is seven by Adrian Peterson with Minnesota in 2012.
  • TE Hunter Henry set a career-high after finishing with 115 receiving yards last week at Cincinnati. It was his third 100-yard game. If he registers a 100-yard receiving game this week against the Giants, it will be the first time in his career that he has had back-to-back 100-yard games.
  • K Andy Borregales is the fourth Patriots rookie to register 90 points in a season. He is on pace to set the team mark for a rookie and finish with 128 total points.
