News Blitz 12/30: Moving on to Miami

A roundup of Patriots news.

The *Miami Herald *has a report today that might raise your eyebrows.

According to that newspaper, the Dolphins brought extra equipment staff with them to Foxborough earlier this season because Miami didn't feel that their things would be safe in Gillette Stadium.

"The extra staffing ensured that no Patriots employee would have any reason to touch (and potentially tamper with) their gear ahead of or during the Thursday night game," the report states. "There will be no such concerns when the two teams meet again in Sunday's season finale. The game is in Miami Gardens."

Meanwhile, the AFC's top playoff seed will be New England's if they beat the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday. The Boston Globe wonders in a column how valuable the top seed actually is for the Patriots.

The Boston Herald ranks the possible Patriots playoff opponents from strongest to weakest.
