News Blitz 12/4: Another runaway for Pats

All of the day's Patriots news in one convenient place.

During the first month of the season more than a few Patriots fans wondered if the team could continue its run of excellence given how poorly the defense was playing. Over the last two months the defense hasn't allowed a single opponent to crack the 17-point mark.

ESPN.com looks at the work of defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and says it’s time to give him his due for his magical work. One of the newest members of that unit is Eric Lee and he drew some praise from Bill Belichick after the game.

ESPN's Mike Reiss says the contrast from early in the season to recently is eye-opening when it comes to Dion Lewis. After watching the Patriots grind away another impressive victory with defense and the running game, the Boston Globe believes the team is well-rounded enough to win any kind of game. The ground game was particularly impressive in this one.

The victory was somewhat marred by an incident late in the game when Rob Gronkowski drew a flag for a late hit to a prone Tre'Davious White. The hit could draw some interest from the league and perhaps even a suspension says ESPN.com. Gronkowski offered an apology to White after the game. The Bills were not happy with what they deemed a dirty hit. The Boston Herald said the “cheap shot” was not Gronk’s finest moment. NESN.com has Brady explaining that he can understand why Gronkowski gets so frustrated with officials.

The Boston Herald says Tom Brady is always worth shouting about anytime he’s playing Buffalo. They offer the best and worst from the win over the Bills. The Providence Journal has newcomer Eric Lee making the most of his opportunities with the Patriots. Stephon Gilmore had the last laugh playing in his first game against his former team.
