In the midst of NFL vacation time that cuts down on daily football news, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski used some of his time off this week to honor young Boston-area student athletes at the Scholar Athletes Celebration at TD Garden.
The Boston Globe notes that Gronk was in attendance at the event as a surprise guest, along with his girlfriend, Camille Kostek.
The Globe also recaps lifelong Patriots fan – and current Batman – Ben Affleck’s appearance on the debut episode of Bill Simmons’ new HBO show entitled "Any Given Sunday with Bill Simmons." The paper describes Affleck as "lively," including a rant on Deflategate.
The Boston Herald also details Affleck’s HBO visit with Simmons, as does the Providence Journal with a story from the Associated Press.
