The NFL is officially entrenched in its slow season, and given the frenetic spring and early summer the Patriots have enjoyed a little break probably isn't the worst thing in the world. News league-wide has been hard to come by, but one interesting and notable development took place last week when the Raiders and Derek Carr agreed on a lucrative contract extension.
