FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that RB Shane Vereen has been activated to the 53-man roster from the injured reserve list. He was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return on Sept. 10, 2013.

Vereen, 24, is in his third NFL season after originally joining New England as a second round draft pick out of California in 2011. Vereen registered his first NFL 100-yard game in the 2013 season opener at Buffalo on Sept. 8 when he gained 101 yards on 14 carries.
