Patriots Alumni to Present $5,000 Mosi Tatupu Memorial Scholarship

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Patriots Hall of Fame linebacker Steve Nelson and cornerback Roland James will carry on the memory of their teammate, former Patriots running back Mosi Tatupu, during a scholarship presentation on Friday, June 15, at 11:30 a.m. at The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon.

Nelson and James will present a $5,000 scholarship in Tatupu's name to Franklin High School senior Zachary Pisani of. The Mosi Tatupu Memorial Scholarship provides tuition assistance to young athletes with learning challenges who exemplify the outstanding qualities that characterize the heart and soul of Tatupu.

"There is no better way to honor Mosi than to help these students pursue higher education through these scholarships," said Patriots Hall of Fame linebacker and Patriots Alumni Club member Steve Nelson. "Mosi was second to none and was passionate about giving back through initiatives like these. One thing about him was that whenever you needed something on or off the field, Mosi delivered."

The scholarship presentation will take place in the theatre on the 3rd floor of The Hall at 11:30 a.m. Students from Remington Middle School in Franklin, Mass. will also be in attendance.

2012 Mosi Tatupu Scholarship Winner:
Zachary Pisani, Franklin, Mass., Franklin High School
Pisani is a driven young man with a strong work ethic. He missed his freshman football season due to a low academic performance, but through dedication and commitment he overcame those challenges and was named the "Unsung Hero" at the team's annual banquet. He played hard in every game and is a great example to underclassmen. Throughout his high school career, he demonstrated how important lessons can be learned both athletically and personally through the sport of football.
