FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (March 3, 2014) – The Kraft family and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation (NEPCF) are accepting nominations for the 2014 Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards. The awards highlight the Patriots' ongoing Celebrate Volunteerism initiative, which honors Myra Kraft's lifetime commitment to volunteerism. The Patriots Charitable Foundation will assemble a panel to review all nominations and select individuals who exemplify leadership, dedication and a commitment to improving their communities through volunteering. Twenty-six volunteers will be selected and honored at a luncheon at Gillette Stadium. Each honoree will receive a Myra Kraft Community MVP Award, as well as a grant in their name to be given to their respective nonprofit organization.

"It's an honor to recognize these incredible people with an award in Myra's name for their countless contributions in our community," said Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft. "Nothing would have made her more proud. Volunteers play such an important role in every nonprofit organization and have such a profound impact in our communities. I look forward to meeting this year's class of Community MVPs and hearing their inspirational stories."

The 26 MVPs will each receive grants, including one grand prize winner of $25,000, 10 second prize winners of $10,000 and 15 third prize winners of $5,000. The money will be awarded to the nonprofit organization for which each honoree volunteers. Winners will be honored and receive their awards at the annual Myra Kraft Community MVP luncheon at Gillette Stadium in June. Additionally, the grand prize and second prize winners will receive visits from the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation to be honored among their peers.

Through the Myra Kraft Community MVP program, nonprofit organizations throughout New England have the opportunity to reward their hard-working volunteers for the invaluable time and support they provide. New England residents who are 13 years of age or older and provide volunteer services for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible for nomination. Only one nominee may be considered from each organization. The strongest consideration will be given to nominees who are hands-on volunteers who do not receive any compensation – monetary or otherwise – for their efforts. Winners will be selected by a New England Patriots Charitable Foundation panel.

Nonprofit organizations may nominate volunteers for the Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards by completing the application found at www.patriots.com/community. Completed applications must be received by March 31, 2014.
