ESPN's Adam Schefterreports that the Patriots re-signed free agent outside linebacker/defensive end Derrick Burgessand various local outlets have updates this morning. Burgess was acquired last summer from Oakland in exchange for third- and fifth-round draft picks but remained unsigned throughout the spring.

Manza Young has Koppen discussing Tom Brady specifically and some other items in her notebook while Rapoport also has teammates defending their quarterback. Tom Curranof says Koppen is fine with Brady not being around for offseason workouts.
