Patriots place RB Dion Lewis on injured reserve

The New England Patriots announced that they have placed RB Dion Lewis on injured reserve.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have placed RB Dion Lewis on injured reserve. 

Lewis, 25, started in six and played in seven games for the Patriots in 2015 and accumulated 234 yards rushing on 49 attempts with two touchdowns and caught 36 passes for 388 yards with two touchdowns. The 5-foot-8, 195-pounder, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on Feb. 6, 2015. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft pick (149th overall) by Philadelphia in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. Lewis was traded by Philadelphia to Cleveland on April 11, 2013. He has played in 31 games with six starts and has 405 yards rushing with four touchdowns and 409 receiving yards with two touchdowns.
