Patriots re-sign punter Ryan Allen

The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed P Ryan Allen.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed P Ryan Allen. Terms of the contract were not announced.

Allen, 29, is a veteran of six seasons with New England after originally entering the NFL as a rookie free agent with New England out of Louisiana Tech on May 3, 2013. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder, enters the 2019 season as the Patriots all-time leader in punt average with a 45.3 career average. He has played in 96 regular-season games and 16 postseason games during his time with New England.

Last season, he played in all 16 games and finished seventh in the NFL with a 45.1-yard average. He also punted in all three postseason games, including five punts for a 43.0-yard average with three punts inside the 20-yard line in Super Bowl LIII against the L.A. Rams.
