Kenyatta Jones was placed on waivers by the Patriots on Saturday, Patriots.com has learned.
Jones, 6-3, 273 right tackle, was recently arrested and charged with assault with attempt to maim, assault and battery and mayhem following an incident in his Walpole home.
Jones, 24, had been on the Patriots physically unable to perform list following surgery on both knees. He was eligible to begin practicing after Week Six and was scheduled to start this past week until his arrest may have changed those plans.
Jones started 11 games at right tackle in 2002 and in his two previous seasons played a total of 18 games. He was originally drafted in the foruth round, 96th overall in 2001.
