FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots waived rookie long snapper Travis Conway and rookie offensive tackle Mike Lorenz today. Both players were signed as undrafted rookie free agents on April 29, 2005.
Conway, 23, attended Virginia Tech, where he served as the Hokies' long snapper on punts in 2001, 2003 and 2004. The 6-foot-5-inch, 252-pound snapper is a native of Richmond, Va.
Lorenz, 23, attended the University of Wisconsin, where he played in 35 career games with 16 starts. The 6-foot-5-inch, 316-pound offensive tackle from Manitowoc, Wisc. was a Three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
