Quick Kicks: Ravens-Patriots in AFC title tilt

After their wins this weekend, the Patriots and Ravens are set up to play for a spot in the Super Bowl.

The Houston-Baltimore Divisional Playoff ended just a few moments ago, and my first reaction is, the Patriots may have dodged a bullet. Gary Kubiak's Texans were the better, more motivated team this afternoon, but made too many mistakes to overcome on the road against a timid Baltimore club.

The Ravens' defense is still formidable, but offensively, that team just doesn't inspire confidence. Houston may have been the more dangerous opponent for New England to match up against. Plus, the Patriots now have a chance to avenge the humiliating loss to Baltimore at home in the 2009 playoffs.

Kickoff of the AFC Championship Game between Baltimore and New England is scheduled for 3 p.m., one week from today.
