Quick Kicks: Thu. 11-3 Practice/Locker Room Notebook — UPDATED

Erik Scalavino offers his Thursday locker room notes as the Patriots prepare to play the New York Giants.

… Once again, the Patriots practiced underneath mostly sunny skies and relatively warm, 50-degree temperatures. They held their seventh full-pads practice of the year, but did so up on their double fields where they hold training camp. First time they've been up there in several weeks.

… Wide receiver Wes Welker (neck) was back on the field after missing Wednesday's workout. However, linebacker Dane Fletcher (thumb) continues to be the only Patriot who hasn't been seen on the field since the Dallas game. We'll have an update on both their statuses, and those of the Giants, around 4 o'clock Eastern, when the injury report is released. Check the blog around then for details.

… Very active locker room interview period today. Vince Wilfork and Taylor Price were among those who gave us some interesting things to write about. A full report is coming later today on patriots.com.

UPDATE … 4:00 p.m.

Good news for Welker, who was able to practice on a limited basis today. Not so for Albert Haynesworth, whose name was back on the injury report with his nagging back condition. He, too, was limited in what he could do today. Fletcher remains a no-show. The other seven Patriots listed in yesterday's notebook were limited once again: safety Josh Barrett (thumb), defensive lineman Shaun Ellis (rib), running back Kevin Faulk (knee), running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis (right toe), tight end Aaron Hernandez (left knee), linebacker Jerod Mayo (left knee), and right tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back).

Down in New York, the Giants had good and bad news as well. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (hamstring) missed their second straight practice. Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was added with a neck injury after reportedly colliding with a teammate in today's workout. However, fellow DE Osi Umenyiora (knee/shoulder) returned on a limited basis after skipping yesterday's practice. DE Justin Tuck (neck/groin) went from limited yesterday to full participation today. Wide receiver Mario Manningham was a full participant after missing Wednesday with an illness.
