Quick Kicks: Wed. 10-19 Practice/Locker Room Notebook

Erik Scalavino offers his Wednesday locker room notes as the Patriots practice on their bye week

… The second of New England's two practices this week was held inside the Dana-Farber Field House because of a steady rain here in Foxborough. The squad went back to their defense-in-blue, offense-in-white practice jerseys, after breaking up into scrimmage rosters yesterday. Today's workout was again in sweats, shells, and helmets.

… Four of the five players who weren't on the field Tuesday were not there again today: QB Tom Brady, who was very visible again in the locker room beforehand, rookie cornerback Ras-I Dowling (hip), linebacker Dan Fletcher (unknown, but had been nursing a thumb), and left tackle Matt Light, who appeared to injure his leg or foot at the end of the Dallas game. Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth (back, presumably) returned after missing Tuesday's action.

… DB Ross Ventrone and corner Sterling Moore are back on the team. Ventrone is on the active roster, Moore the practice squad. There were two spots available, one on each roster, to accommodate the two young players.

… How are the Patriots approaching the next five off days of their bye week? Find out in a locker room interview update on patriots.com. The next opportunity we'll have for team updates will be Monday, when Belichick and his staff will hold conference calls with the media. Practice resumes Tuesday.
