The New England Patriots to Build Playground in Foxborough

The Home Depot To Team With The New England Patriots , Kaboom! And Others To Build Playground In Foxborough

On October 14, members of the New England Patriots, as well as officials from the Town of Foxborough, including the Foxborough Jaycees and organizers from the non-profit organization KaBOOM!, will join Home Depot employees to construct a new playground at Parcel #201 Payson Road in Foxborough. More than 150 volunteers will work together to construct the playground in just seven hours, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the many families and children who live in the area.

At 8:30 a.m., volunteers from the community will join Home Depot, the New England Patriots and Foxborough town officials to build a playground. The new play structures will include a spiral slide, plateau climber, double-lighting slide, tic-tac-toe panel, critter crossing and round-about monkey bars. Volunteers will also spread 115 cubic yards of safety surface and build new park benches and picnic tables. The event will conclude with a "board-cutting" ceremony at 3:00 p.m. (in lieu of a traditional ribbon cutting) to open the playground for local children.

We're honoring Home Depot's promise to the communities we serve by building a safe place for children to play," said Marc Powers, Home Depot Regional Vice President. He added, "Playgrounds bring communities together."

The New England Patriots organization is pleased to partner on this very meaningful community project with Home Depot and the Town of Foxborough," said Rena Clark, Patriots Vice President for Community Affairs and Corporate Philanthrophy. "To come together for this wonderful cause that will benefit children is extremely important and our entire organization is looking forward to this event."

We're thrilled that Home Depot and the New England Patriots have stepped forward to build this playground for all the young children in this community," said Debbie Giardino, Director of Town of Foxborough's Recreation Department. "Every child should have a safe place to play and the KaBOOM! playground will make that goal a reality here."

KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit organization that empowers communities to build high-quality, safe playgrounds for children. "The mission of KaBOOM! is to build effective partnerships that bring resources and people together to provide children with safe and accessible play areas," said Darrell Hammond, co-founder and CEO of KaBOOM!. "This partnership is a wonderful example of how groups can come together for something positive. It sends a clear message to the children in the community that their time as children is important."

The Home Depot, the nation's largest home improvement retailer, is a long-time supporter of KaBOOM!, donating supplies and volunteers to build more than 100 KaBOOM! playgrounds in cities throughout North America. The partnership is part of Home Depot's ongoing commitment to give back to the communities it serves.
