FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have activated OL Bryan Stork to the 53-man roster. Stork was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return on Sept. 9, prior to the first game of the season. In addition, the Patriots placed OL Ryan Wendell on injured reserve.Â
Wendell, 29, is in his seventh season with the Patriots after originally joining the team as a rookie free agent out of Fresno State in 2008. The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder, spent his 2008 season and part of the 2009 season on the practice squad and has played and started at three different positions along the offensive line – left guard, center and right guard. Wendell, who was named a team captain prior to the start of the season, has played in 79 games with 49 starts in the regular season and 12 postseason games with seven starts. He missed the first five games in 2015 due to an illness and then saw action as a reserve in the last two games.Â
