Late this Friday morning, news broke that another Patriots free agent has signed elsewhere. Many other media outlets were quick to pounce on wide receiver Chris Hogan's signing with the Carolina Panthers, which his new team made official in the below Tweet.
Hogan could be back at Gillette this summer, though, when the Panthers come to face the Patriots in Week 3 of the preseason.
Meanwhile, we're still a couple of weeks out from the 2019 NFL Draft, but that's the main topic on most media minds as we close out this second week of April. An ESPN scribe offers a list of teams most likely to trade up in this year's annual player selection meeting (as the draft is officially known), and your Super Bowl Champs made the list… pretty high up, in fact.
We're probably closer to knowing about the 2019 regular season schedule (likely to be unveiled officially next week), at least in part due to a high-profile player's social media posts of late regarding the season opener. NBC Sports Boston has details as it tries to read the digital tea leaves.
We'll end the week with a couple of Tom Brady stories. Boston Sports Journal talks with the man who talk TB12 out of a career in professional baseball, while, based on comments from his personal trainer, WEEI.com examines the QB's chances of continuing to play football till… age 50???
