News Blitz 8/24: Stork release among latest moves

All of the day's Patriots news in one convenient place.

Another day and another round of transactions in Foxborough. While most of the previous moves did not move the needle much, the news Wednesday morning did.

According to multiple reports the Patriots released Bryan Stork, a fourth-round pick in 2014, as well as veteran wide receiver Nate Washington. While neither move qualified as stunning, Stork's departure would at least be considered surprising.

The rise of rookie Joe Thuney likely played a role in Stork's release and ESPNBoston.com believes the third-round pick is reminiscent of Logan Mankins back in 2005.

ESPNBoston.com also offers a practice update, including the return of Jabaal Sheard, who is reportedly dealing with a sprained MCL. Rookie D.J. Foster is also back out on the practice field.

Tom Brady returned from his two-day absence on Tuesday and met with the media. He would not detail his plans for his four-week suspension however.

CSNNE.com believes the key of Marcus Cannon's play is confidence. Not sure why anyone would do so, but CSNNE.com also adds that nobody should be pushing the panic button over the team's recent spate of injuries.
