FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today the signing of rookie WR Phil Lutz and that first-year DT Isaiah Iton has been waived-injured.
Lutz, 24, began his college career at Tufts before transferring to Delaware for the last two seasons. The 6-foot, 195-pounder, led the team with 45 receptions for 863 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. During the 2022 season at Tufts, Lutz finished with 78 receptions for 1,221 yards and 14 touchdowns, while averaging 15.7 yards per catch.
Iton, 23, was signed by New England on May 12, 2025. The 6-foot-2, 277-pounder, originally signed with the Tennessee Titans as a rookie free agent out of Rutgers on May 10, 2024. He was released by Tennessee and spent the season on the practice squad. He signed a futures contract with the team after the season but was released on April 16, 2025. Iton played for Northern Colorado, Hutchinson Community College and Mississippi before playing at Rutgers.
