FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have released RB Antonio Gibson.

Gibson, 27, was signed by New England as an unrestricted free agent from Washington on March 14, 2024. The 6-foot, 228-pounder, was originally drafted by Washington in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Memphis. He has played in 83 NFL games with 35 starts and has 3,287 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns and 1,495 receiving yards with 7 touchdowns. In addition, Gibson has returned 56 kicks for 1,407 yards with 1 touchdown. Last season, he was limited to just five games due to an injury suffered in the game at Buffalo on Oct. 5. He finished the season with 25 rushing attempts for 106 yards and 1 touchdown, 2 receptions for 6 yards and 12 kick returns for 342 yards with 1 touchdown. Gibson was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week by the National Football League for his performance in the Patriots' 33-27 victory at the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 14, 2025, when he put the Patriots in the lead with a 90-yard kickoff return.
