Patriots sign four 2020 NFL Draft selections

The New England Patriots announced today the signing of second-round draft pick LB Josh Uche, fifth-round draft pick K Justin Rohrwasser and sixth-round draft picks OL Justin Herron and LB Cassh Maluia.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today the signing of second-round draft pick LB Josh Uche, fifth-round draft pick K Justin Rohrwasser and sixth-round draft picks OL Justin Herron and LB Cassh Maluia. Terms of the contracts were not announced.

Uche, 21, was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 60th overall selection out of Michigan. The 6-foot-2, 245-pounder was a three-year letterman at Michigan, playing in 39 games and finished with 56 total tackles and 16½ sacks. As a senior last season, Uche was named the Defensive Player of the Year as voted by his teammates and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors.

Rohrwasser, 23, was selected by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 159th overall selection out of Marshall. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder began his collegiate career at Rhode Island for two seasons before transferring to Marshall. He appeared in 47 games over four seasons and successfully converted 48-of-62 field goals (77.4 percent) and 118-of-123 extra points (95.9 percent). Rohrwasser played in all 13 games in 2019 and successfully converted 18-of-21 field goals (85.7 percent) with a long of 53 and hit on 35-of-36 extra points (97.2 percent). He was named Conference USA Special Teams Most Valuable Player and earned first team all-conference honors for Conference USA.

Herron, 24, was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 195th overall selection out of Wake Forest. The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder set a school record with 51 games started in his career and was named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team in 2016, 2017 and 2019. Herron was elected team captain for the 2019 season, starting all 13 games and earning third team All-ACC honors.

Maluia, 21, was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 204th overall selection out of Wyoming. The 6-foot, 248-pounder started 38-of-50 career games as a Cowboy, and was a starter in three bowl games in 2016, 2017 and 2019. He played in 13 games as a senior and totaled 61 tackles a half-sack, two interceptions and one pass defensed, earning Honorable Mention All-Mountain West Conference honors.
