FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have traded LB Marte Mapu to the Houston Texans. Terms of the trade were not announced.
Mapu, 26, is a veteran of three seasons with New England after originally joining the team as a third-round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Sacramento State. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, has played in 44 games with 10 starts and has 69 total tackles, 3 interceptions, a half a sack, 5 forced fumbles and 20 special teams tackles. Last season, Mapu played in all 17 games and finished with 13 tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 12 special teams tackles. He also played in all four postseason games and assisted on 1 special teams tackle.
