Beginning this week and for the remainder of the 2001 football season, Ty Law and other members of the New England Patriots will participate in a multi-media public awareness campaign to promote donations of blood platelets. Blood platelets, the life-saving clotting agents in blood, are vital to individuals fighting cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma, patients undergoing chemotherapy organ transplant recipients and those who suffer blood loss during surgery.

Law will be featured in television and radio public service announcements and in public services ads in Patriots Football Weekly and Patriots GameDay magazine to promote platelet donations. In addition, information on the platelet donation program will be available on the team's web site,, and in the festival area of Foxboro Stadium on the day of games.
