PATRIOTS TIE FOR BEST TURNAROUND FROM ONE SEASON TO THE NEXT
The Patriots finished with a 14-3 record, a 10-game difference from the 4-13 finish in 2024. The 10-game improvement tied the 1999 Indianapolis Colts and the 2008 Miami Dolphins for the best turnaround in NFL history. The 1998 Colts were 3-13 and improved to 13-3 in 1999, and the 2007 Dolphins were 1-15 in 2007 and improved to 11-5 in 2008.
PATRIOTS EARN SERIES SWEEP OVER MIAMI
The Patriots earned their 11th series sweep of Miami, and their first series sweep since the 2016 season. The Patriots beat the Dolphins in the first meeting of the season, 33-27, on Sept. 14 in Miami.
PATRIOTS EARN 14TH WIN OF THE SEASON
The Patriots improved to a 14-3 record. It is the team's sixth season with 14 or more wins.
PATRIOTS HOLD OPPONETS UNDER 20 POINTS PER GAME ON AVERAGE FOR 15TH TIME IN PAST 25 YEARS
The Patriots allowed just 18.8 points per game. It is the 15th time since 2001 that the Patriots have finished a season allowing less than 20 points per game, second only to Baltimore during that span.
PATRIOTS SCORE TOUCHDOWNS
The Patriots scored five touchdowns in the win against Miami to push their touchdown total to 58, the fifth highest total in team history.
PATRIOTS ADD TO IMPRESSIVE TOTAL
The Patriots, Denver and Seattle tied for the best record in the NFL with 14-3 records. The Patriots have had the best record in the NFL in seven seasons this century (includes ties), the most of any team during that span (2003, 2007, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2025).
PATRIOTS REACH 6,000 TOTAL YARDS FOR THE 10TH TIME IN TEAM HISTORY
The Patriots finished the year with 6,449 total yards, the 10th time in team history that the team has reached 6,000 yards and the fourth highest in team history.
PATRIOTS RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS
With the 4 rushing touchdowns against Miami, the Patriots finished the year with 22 rushing touchdowns, the 10th time in team history that they had at least 20 rushing touchdowns and the first time since the 2021 season when they had 24 rushing touchdowns.
PATRIOTS PRODUCE SECOND 200-YARD RUSHING GAME OF THE SEASON
The Patriots finished with 243 yards rushing on 34 carries for a 7.1-yard average. It is the second time in 2025 that the team finished with 200 yards rushing. The Patriots had a season-high 246 yards rushing vs. Buffalo on Dec. 14.
PATRIOTS TIE TEAM RECORD WITH 4 RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS
The Patriots tied a team record with 4 total rushing touchdowns vs. Miami. They also had 4 rushing touchdowns vs. Buffalo on Dec. 14. It is the 13th time in team history that the team has scored 4 rushing touchdowns in a single game.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
VRABEL IS ONE OF THREE TO WIN 14 GAMES IN FIRST SEASON WITH A TEAM
Head Coach Mike Vrabel has led the Patriots to a 14-3 record and joins George Seifert (1989 with San Francisco) and Jim Caldwell (2009 with Indianapolis) as the only coaches to win 14 games in their first season coaching a team.
MAYE SETS TEAM RECORD WITH HIGHEST COMPLETION PERCENTAGE
QB Drake Maye finished the 2025 season with a 72.0 completion percentage, the highest in team history and the sixth-best in NFL history. He moved past Tom Brady, who has a 68.9 completion percentage in 2007. Brady was the last Patriots player to lead the NFL in completion percentage when he did so in 2007.
MAYE IS THE EIGHTH QB IN HISTORY WITH 70, 4000, AND 30
Maye is the eighth quarterback in NFL history to finish a season with a 70.0% (72.0) or better completion percentage, at least 4,000 passing yards (4,394) and at least 30 touchdown passes (31).
MAYE TIES MAHOMES WITH 13 GAMES WITH A PASSER RATING OF 100.0 OR MORE
Maye finished with 13 games with a passer rating of 100.0 or more after a 129.4 passer rating against Miami. That ties Patrick Mahomes who had 13 games in a single season (2018) with Kansas City. His 13 games in a single season with a passer rating of at least 100.0 is a new franchise record, eclipsing Tom Brady's record of 12, set in 2010 and repeated in 2011. Aaron Rogers owns the NFL record with 14 games in 2020.
MAYE FINISHES WITH A 113.5 PASSER RATING
Maye finished the season with a 113.5 passer rating. Tom Brady is the only other Patriots quarterback to finish a season with a passer rating over 100.0. He accomplished the feat six times during his career with the Patriots. Maye's 113.5 mark in 2025 is second only to the 117.2 passer rating by Brady in 2007.
MAYE HAS ONE OF THE BEST SEASONS IN TEAM HISTORY
Maye finished with 4,394 yards and 31 touchdown passes.
STEVENSON GAINS 100 YARDS RUSHING
RB Rhamondre Stevenson finished with 7 rushing attempts for a 131 yards with 2 rushing touchdowns and an 18.7-yard average, his sixth 100-yard rushing game of his career and his first of the season. It is his first 100-yard gain since he had 120 yards rushing at Cincinnati on Sept. 8, 2024.
STEVENSON SCORES A CAREER-HIGH 3 TOTAL TOUCHDOWNS
Stevenson scored a career-high 3 total touchdowns with a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, a 15yard touchdown reception and a 35-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. It is the sixth time in his career that he has had 2 rushing touchdowns in a game and the second time in 2025. He had 2 rushing touchdowns at Buffalo on Oct. 5, 2025.
STEVENSON HAS SECOND 50-YARD RUN OF HIS CAREER
Stevenson had a 56-yard run in the first quarter to set up the Patriots first touchdown. It is his second 50yard run of his career. He had a career-long 64-yard touchdown run vs. Washington on Nov. 5, 2023. It is the fifth 50-yard run of the season for the Patriots. RB TreVeyon Henderson has had four 50-yard touchdown runs. The five 50-yard runs in one season are the most in team history.
STEVENSON MOVED INTO FIFTH PLACE ON PATRIOTS RUSHING LIST
Stevenson moved past Kevin Faulk into fifth place on the Patriots all-time rushing list with a 20-yard run in the third quarter. Stevenson finished with 131 rushing yards against Miami and now has 3,669 rushing yards.
STEVENSON HAS SECOND STRAIGHT GAME WITH A RECEIVING TD AND A RUSHING TD IN THE SAME GAME
Stevenson scored two rushing touchdowns (2 yards and 35 yards) and had one touchdown reception (15 yards) in the third quarter from QB Drake Maye. It is the second consecutive game and the third time in his career that he has had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the same game. He accomplished the feat at the New York Jets on Dec. 28 and also at Tennessee on Nov. 3, 2024.
STEVENSON SCORES ON A 35-YARD TOUCHDOWN RUN
Stevenson's 35-yard touchdown run was his fifth 30-yard touchdown run of his career and first since a 34yard touchdown run at Las Vegas on Dec. 18, 2022.
STEVENSON GOES OVER 150 SCRIMMAGE YARDS AND SCORES 3 TDS
Stevenson is the fifth Patriot to have at least 150 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns in a single game, joining Jonas Gray (11/16/14 at Indianapolis), Stanley Morgan (9/21/86 vs. Seattle), Tony Collins (9/18/83 vs. the N.Y. Jets) and Billy Lott (10/22/61 vs. Buffalo).
BORREGALES KICKS THIRD LONGEST FIELD GOAL IN TEAM HISTORY
Rookie K Andy Borregales connected on a career-best 59-yard field goal at the end of the first half, the third longest field goal in team history. His previous best was a 53-yard field goal at Miami on Sept. 14, 2025. Borregales has connected on all four of his 50-yard attempts in 2025. It is the most 50-yard field goals in a season by a rookie kicker in team history.
HENDERSON SCORES 10th TOUCHDOWN OF THE SEASON
RB TreVeyon Henderson scored two rushing touchdowns to finish with 10 total touchdowns (9 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown). He is the fourth Patriots rookie to score at least 10 total touchdowns in a season. HENDERSON HAS FOURTH GAME IN 2025 WITH 2 RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS
Henderson scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter and a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter. It is the fourth time in 2025 that he has had 2 rushing touchdowns in a game â vs. Buffalo (12/14), vs. NY Jets (11/13) and at Tampa Bay (11/9).
HENDERSON SETS PATRIOTS ROOKIE RECORD
Henderson's 5.1-yard average is the highest average for any Patriots rookie running back since 1970. The previous best was a 4.6-yard average by RB Rhamondre Stevenson in 2021. Henderson finished the season with 911 yards rushing.
GIBBENS HAS FIRST FORCED FUMBLE OF HIS CAREER
LB Jack Gibbens forced a fumble on Miami RB Jaylen Wright that was recovered by LB Elijah Ponder in the second quarter. It is the first forced fumble of Gibbens' career.
HAWKINS INTERCEPTION IN END ZONE ENDS MIAMI DRIVE
S Jaylinn Hawkins had an interception for the second straight week when he picked off Miami QB Quinn Ewers in the end zone in the third quarter. Hawkins has a career-high and team-leading 4 interceptions. His previous high was 2 interceptions in 2021 and 2022 when he played for Atlanta. It is the second time in Hawkins' career that he has had an interception in back-to-back games, having done so in 2021 when he played for Atlanta (vs. the N.Y. Jets on Oct. 10 and at Miami on Oct. 24). The last Patriot to have an interception in consecutive games was S Kyle Dugger in 2023, when he had one at Miami on Oct. 28 and another vs. Washington on Nov. 5.
MARCUS JOENS GETS HIS SECOND CAREER SACK
CB Marcus Jones dropped Miami QB Quinn Ewers for a 3-yard sack in the third quarter for his second sack of the season. He was credited with his first career sack in the fourth quarter on a 3-yard sack of New Orleans QB Spencer Rattler.
DIGGS GOES OVER 1,000 RECEIVING YARDS
WR Stefon Diggs entered the game with a team-leading 970 receiving yards and needed 30 yards for his seventh 1,000-yard season. He reached the milestone on 34-yard pass in the third quarter and finished the game with 43 yards to push his 2025 total to 1,013 receiving yards. It is the first 1,000-yard season by a New England player since the 2019 season when WR Julian Edelman finished with 1,117 receiving yards.
BARINGER FINISHES STRONG
P Bryce Baringer set the team record with a 49.8-yard punting average in 2024. His 47.4-yard average in 2025 is the third-best in team history.
