Patriots Trade C Garrett Bradbury to the Chicago Bears; Release WR Stefon Diggs, LB Anfernee Jennings and LB Jahlani Tavai

The Patriots announced today that they have released WR Stefon Diggs, LB Anfernee Jennings and LB Jahlani Tavai. In addition, the Patriots traded C Garrett Bradbury to the Chicago Bears for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have released WR Stefon Diggs, LB Anfernee Jennings and LB Jahlani Tavai. In addition, the Patriots traded C Garrett Bradbury to the Chicago Bears for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick.

Diggs, 32, is a veteran of 11 NFL seasons with Minnesota (2015-19), Buffalo (2020-23), Houston (2024) and New England (2025). The 6-foot, 191-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft pick (146th overall) by Minnesota in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Maryland. He was traded by Minnesota to Buffalo in 2020 and by Buffalo to Houston in 2024. Diggs was signed by New England as an unrestricted free agent from Houston on March 28, 2025.

Overall, Diggs has played in 161 regular season games with 153 starts and has 942 receptions for 11,504 yards and 74 touchdowns. He had 100-plus receptions five times, including four straight seasons (2020-23). With Buffalo in 2020, his 127 receptions led the NFL. He recorded six straight 1,000-yard seasons (2018-23), including a career-high and NFL-leading 1,535 receiving yards in 2020. He also has 41 100-yard games.

Last season, Diggs started all 17 games and led the team with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and 4 touchdowns with five 100-yard games to help the Patriots win the AFC East title and advance to Super Bowl LX.

Jennings, 28, was originally drafted by New England in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Alabama. The 6-foot-2, 255-pounder, has played in 75 games with 40 starts and has registered 218 total tackles, 7½ sacks, 3 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Last season, he played in 14 games with three starts and finished with 20 tackles and 2 sacks.

Tavai, 29, originally entered the NFL as a second-round draft pick by the Detroit Lions out of Hawaii in the 2019 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 255-pounder, was released by Detroit in 2021 at the end of training camp and was signed by New England to the practice squad. The Patriots signed him to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Oct. 13, 2021. Overall, Tavai has played in 107 games with 67 starts and has 432 total tackles, 5½ sacks, 4 interceptions, 14 passes defensed, 6 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Last season, Tavai played in 12 games with seven starts and finished with 34 total tackles and 1 forced fumble.

Bradbury, 30, is a veteran of nine NFL seasons with Minnesota (2019-24) and New England (2025). The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick (18th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State. He signed with New England on March 19, 2025, after being released by Minnesota. Bradbury has started all 105 regular season games and all eight postseason games since entering the NFL. Last season, Bradbury started all 17 regular season games and all four postseason games at center for the Patriots.
