Biography
COACHING
Brian McDonough enters his second season with the Patriots as a full-time assistant strength and conditioning coach. He began this role in 2024 after working with the team as a consultant for over 20 years.
McDonough has 28 years of cumulative experience in strength and conditioning, developing athletes from the NFL, NHL, MLB, as well as the high school and collegiate ranks. He previously owned and operated a sports performance business, Edge Performance Systems in the town of Foxborough, for over 20 years. Before working with the Patriots on a full-time basis, McDonough worked closely with athletes such as Julian Edelman.
PERSONAL
McDonough graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he played linebacker from 1994-97. He holds a master's degree in applied exercise science with a concentration in strength and conditioning from Concordia University Chicago and holds certification from USA Weightlifting.
Brian and his wife, Shauna, have two daughters, Lyla and Cali.
