Biography
COACHING
Frank Piraino joined the Patriots in 2025 as director of sports performance. He spent the 2024 season with the New York Giants, where he served as the director of strength and conditioning. Prior to his time in New York, Piraino spent five seasons (2019-23) at the Tennessee Titans as director of sports performance and a strength and conditioning coach under head coach Mike Vrabel.
Before Piraino was in the NFL, he joined head coach Steve Addazio at Boston College after spending two seasons (2011-12) as his head strength and conditioning coach at Temple and one year as the head strength and conditioning coach for football at Marshall (2010). Piraino also spent time at Florida for five years (2005-09), during a stretch when Florida won a pair of national championships (2006 and 2008) under head coach Urban Meyer. In additon, Piraino made stops at Notre Dame (2004) and Michigan State (2003-04). He began his career at Walsh Jesuit High School in Ohio, the same high school that Vrabel attended. Piraino also completed an internship with the Cleveland Guardians (2000-01).
PERSONAL
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Piraino earned a bachelor's degree in sports and exercise science at the University of Akron, and later earned a master's degree in sports administration from Michigan State. He and his wife, Evan, have two sons, Milo and Leo, and a daughter, Micah.
