When Coach Bill Belichick sat courtside for the Celtics and Cavs game Wednesday night, he surely was expecting to catch an exciting game of basketball. Instead, he nearly caught a basketball legend. Literally.

LeBron James went up for a block and ended up running into a cameraman right in front of Coach Belichick, but LeBron slowed up enough to prevent a full blown collision with the Patriots coach. The cameraman, however, wasn't so lucky.

After the game, LeBron was asked about the near run in, and he said he did everything he could to stop himself.

"I definitely slowed up because I knew it was him. I'm not taking no legend out," LeBron said. "I'm not doing that. I need to keep seeing him winning, so that's pretty cool for me."

LeBron wasn't the only player on the court to show Coach Belichick some love Wednesday night. In between the action, Isaiah Thomas ran over to meet the Patriot. It was the first time the two had met, he said.

"Oh, I just wanted to meet him. I just shook his hand," Isaiah said after the game. "I just wanted to shake his hand and show my respect."

Offseason tyme.

Coach Belichick and his girlfriend Linda Holliday sat courtside, but they were far from the only Patriots who turned out for the Celtics huge win over the Cavs. Josh McDaniels, Nick Caserio and LeGarrette Blount were also at the TD Garden Wednesday night.

Earlier this week, Julian Edelman also came out for a Celtics game, showing off his clean-shaven look when the Hawks were in town.
