FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today the signing of RB Micah Bernard and DT Philip Blidi. The Patriots also released CB Tre Avery and DE Jereme Robinson.
Bernard, 23, was signed as a rookie free agent by the Tennessee Titans on May 8, 2025 out of Utah. The 5-foot-10, 206-pounder, was released by Tennessee on June 2, 2025. He played in 47 games during his college career and finished with 421 rushing attempts for 2,298 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 99 receptions for 770 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Blidi, 23, was signed by the Tennessee Titans as a rookie free agent out of Auburn on May 8, 2025 and released on August 17, 2025. The 6-foot-3, 297-pounder, tallied 91 tackles, 11½ sacks and 1 fumble recovery during his college career. He began his career at Texas Tech (2020-22), Indiana (2023) and then at Auburn (2024).
Avery, 28, was released by San Francisco on August 4, 2025 and claimed by New England on August 5, 2025. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent out of Rutgers with the Tennessee Titans in 2022. After two seasons on the 53-man roster, Avery began the 2024 season on the practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster in October. He was released by Tennessee in December and claimed off waivers by San Francisco. Overall, he has played in 38 games with five starts and has 54 total tackles, 11 passes defensed and 11 special teams tackles.
Robinson, 25, was signed by New England on August 10, 2025. He was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as a rookie free agent out of Kansas on May 8, 2025. The 6-foot-3, 263-pounder, was released by Chicago on July 22, 2025. Robinson played in 53 games during his college career at Kansas and finished with 98 total tackles and 14 sacks.
