MAYE SETS PATRIOTS ROOKIE RECORD
QB Drake Maye has thrown a touchdown pass in eight-straight games after his 36-yard touchdown pass to WR DeMario Douglas in the second quarter, the longest such streak by a rookie in franchise history. He entered the game tied with Jim Plunkett (1971) with seven straight games with a touchdown pass The NFL rookie record is 13-straight games by Peyton Manning with Indianapolis in 1998 and Baker Mayfield in 2018 with Cleveland. Maye's streak is the longest for a rookie in the NFL since Justin Herbet had a streak of 10 in 2020.
MAYE NOW HAS 17 TDS IN 12 GAMES
Drake Maye has been responsible for 17 touchdowns (15 passing, 2 rushing) in his first 12 career games. The only Patriots player with more touchdowns in their first 12 games with the team was Butch Songin (21 in 1960). Randy Moss (17 in 2007) and Jim Plunkett (17 in 1971) also had 17.
MAYE CONNECTS ON FOURTH TD PASS OF 30 YARDS OR MORE
Maye connected on a 36-yard touchdown pass to WR DeMario Douglas in the second quarter, his fourth touchdown pass of at least 30 yards and his second 30-yarder to Douglas. Maye and Douglas connected on 35-yard touchdown pass vs. Houston on Oct. 13. Maye's four touchdown passes of least 30 yards are the most by the team since Mac Jones had five such passes in 2022.
TAVAI REACHES 100 TOTAL TACKLES FOR SECOND STRAIGHT SEASON
LB Jahlani Tavai reached 100 total tackles after finishing with a team-leading 10 total tackles to push his 2024 totals to 105 total tackles. He entered the game with 95 total tackles and reached 100 tackles with his fifth tackle of the game in the second quarter. Tavia had a career-high 107 total tackles during the 2023 season. It was his second game with at least 10 tackles this season and the sixth of his career. He had 11 total tackles at Tennessee on Nov. 3.
SCHOOLER NEEDS 1 MORE SPECIAL TEAMS TACKLE TO REACH 10
S Brenden Schooler assisted on 1 special teams tackle and now has 9 total for the year. He needs 1 special teams tackle in the season-finale to reach at least 10 special teams in each of his first three NFL seasons. Schooler has led the Patriots in special teams tackles in each of the last two seasons with 14 in 2022 and 13 in 2023. The last NFL player to start his career with 3+ consecutive seasons with 10+ special teams tackles was Tyler Matakevich (6 straight from 2016-2021 with Pittsburgh and Buffalo).
BARINGER HAS SIXTH CAREER GAME WITH TWO 60-YARD PUNTS
P Bryce had two 60-yard punts in the same game for the sixth time in his career and for the third time in 2024 after a 62-yard punt in the third quarter and a 64-yard punt in the fourth quarter. He also had two 60yard punts vs. Seattle on Sept. 15 and at Chicago on Nov 10. As a rookie last season, Baringer had three games with at least two 60-yard punts. He is the only Patriots player to have at least two games with two 60-yard punts in a season.
LINEUP NOTES
• G Cole Strange made his first NFL start at center due to the injury to C Ben Brown. All of his previous 27 starts were at left guard.
• T Cadean Wallace was activated to the 53-man roster and saw his first action since being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 4. Wallace saw his first action in the second quarter on the extra point attempt. He entered the game at right tackle in the fourth quarter.
• G Lester Cotton entered the game at right guard for the first time as a member of the Patriots in the fourth quarter. All of his previous offensive snaps were as a tackle-eligible tight end.
• WR Alex Erickson was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad for the second straight week and was utilized as a kickoff returner and punt returner due to the injury to Marcus Jones.
• RB JaMycal Hasty returned to action after missing one game due to injury.
