Patriots Elevate Two Players to the Active Roster

The New England Patriots announced that RB Terrell Jennings and DE Truman Jones have been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that RB Terrell Jennings and DE Truman Jones have been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

Jennings, 24, originally was signed by New England as a rookie free agent from Florida A&M on May 13, 2024, and began the year on the practice squad. The 6-foot, 217-pounder, was elevated for the game vs. Houston on Oct. 13, 2024, and then was signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Dec. 21, 2024. He played in three games and finished with 13 carries for 33 yards last season. Jennings was signed to the practice squad after being released at the end of training camp this past summer.

Jones, 25, was signed by New England to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Jan. 4, 2025, and made his NFL debut in the season-finale vs. Buffalo (1/5), finishing with 2 tackles. The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Dec. 3, 2024. He was originally signed by Kansas City as a rookie free agent out of Harvard on May 6, 2023, and spent all of the 2023 season and part of the 2024 season on the Chiefs practice squad. He was released from the Kansas City practice squad on Nov. 26, 2024. The Patriots released Jones at the end of training camp this past summer and then signed him to the practice squad.
