FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed linebacker Ufomba Kamalu (ooh-FOM-ba -ka-MA-lu) to the practice squad.

Kamalu, 26, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Houston Texans out of Miami (Fla.) on May 6, 2016. The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder began his rookie season on Houston's practice squad before being added to the 53-man roster on Nov. 26. Kamalu appeared in 13 games with three starts for the Texans from 2016-17 and registered 11 tackles and three sacks. He was released by the Texans prior to the start of the 2018 regular season and has since had a brief stint on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.
